No lock-in is a trust feature, not a weakness
Packet Den's approach to documented, portable small-business infrastructure.
A lot of business technology is sold by making it hard to leave.
Packet Den is built around the opposite idea: if your business relies on a phone system, automation, backup process, or hosted tool, you should know where it lives and how it can be moved.
That does not mean every customer wants to become a sysadmin. Most do not. The point is agency without abandonment:
- the stack is documented
- access can be revoked
- backups and recovery are understandable
- another admin can inspect the setup
- the business is not trapped if needs change
My job is to make the infrastructure boring, recoverable, and portable. Customers can keep me around because the service is useful, not because the exit path is hidden.
